Two people shot at Fishkill hotel melee early Saturday morning

VILLAGE OF FISHKILL – A man was shot in a hotel parking lot early Saturday morning moments after police were requested to the area for reports of a large disturbance in the hotel parking lot. During the investigation, a female suffering from a grazing gunshot wound was also discovered.

Village of Fishkill Police and State Troopers responded to the Best Western/Hawthorn Suites on Schuyler Boulevard at approximately 12:30 a.m. for a report of a large disturbance in the parking lot of the hotel.  The first police units were on the scene within moments.  At 12:43 a.m. a Village of Fishkill officer radioed in that shots were being fired and additional police units were requested to the scene.

Police from several agencies responded to the scene to provide assistance.  As they were responding, a trooper indicated that an EMS unit was needed for a male who had sustained a gunshot wound.  A Mobile Life ambulance was responding from Newburgh and indicated that they would be on the scene in 16 minutes.

Upon arrival at 12:51 a.m., the ambulance was directed to approach the front of the hotel where the patient was reported to be in and out of consciousness.

With multiple police agencies at the scene, a second ambulance was requested to the scene at 1:14 a.m. to treat a female who had sustained a grazing gunshot wound.
