Two sentenced for home invasion

WHITE PLAINS – Two Bronx men were convicted after a jury trial and sentenced to state prison on charges stemming from a 2020 home invasion in Yonkers.

On April 15, Trejuan Deas, 26, was sentenced as a second violent felony offender to 16 years in state prison followed by five years of post-release supervision after being convicted of three counts of burglary, assault and robbery, all felonies.

A co-defendant, Joshua Emanuel, 21, was sentenced on March 3 to 11 years in prison with five years of post-release supervision after being convicted of three counts of burglary, robbery and tampering with physical evidence, all as felonies.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on December 18, 2020, the two forced their way into a Yonkers home and committed several crimes against two victims. The female victim was able to covertly call 911, but before the police arrived, Deas threw the 80-year-old male victim down a flight of stairs causing physical injury.

During the burglary, the two stole a cell phone from the woman and Emanuel dismantled and hid the gun he had used during the incident as police arrived.

Yonkers Police arrived Deas jumped out of a first-floor window and Emanuel as he left the home.
