Police investigate shooting of man in Kingston

KINGSTON – As Kingston Mayor Steve Noble was taking the half-hour drive from his city to Newburgh on Wednesday where a gun violence roundtable was to be held by state officials, he learned that a man had just been shot in broad daylight.

Kingston Police were called to a report of shots fired on Cedar Street at around 12:18 p.m. and they located a 29-year-old man who suffered from gunshot wounds.

In addition to the victim, rounds were found in a local business and a private residence.

The investigation is continuing with assistance from the State Police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Ulster Police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
