Pedestrian struck and killed by train

PEEKSKILL – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a northbound Amtrak train on the Hudson Line in Peekskill Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The victim had trespassed on the railroad tracks around 3:20 p.m. when train #291, the Ethan Allen Express, traveling from New York City to Rutland, Vermont, struck and killed the individual. Officials did not immediately know if the person was a man or woman.
