Newburgh man arrested for attempted murder of his father

NEWBURGH – City Police in Newburgh have arrested a Newburgh man on a charge of attempted murder in connection with the Tuesday attack on his father.

Rafael Carrera, 40, was taken into custody at around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday in the area of 79 Fullerton Avenue.

Police said Carrera had instigated an argument with his father as the victim sat in his car in the driveway of his home and proceeded to slash him with a knife.
