KINGSTON – The Ulster County Capital Resource Corporation is partnering with the People’s Place organization to distribute 2,000 $50 gift cards to county residents in need.

Funding for the cards comes from the PPE resources from the federal government during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Capital Resource Corporation Executive Officer Rose Woodworth said the agency initially thought of distributing the card during the holidays but realized the need exists far beyond.

“I think a lot of people do what they can, and they do a wonderful job at Thanksgiving and Christmas,” she said. “After the holidays, in January and February, is when the community can forget that these issues are still going on, and people still need help.”
