MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency’s moratorium on new financial incentive proposals is drawing to an end as the board has approved recommendations to improve its Uniform Tax Exemption Policy.

IDA Executive Director Jennifer Flad said there is one major change and that is to incentivize new aviation projects at the county airport in White Lake.

“That’s intended to draw some development into the county-owned airport and abate some tax that developers would otherwise incur by locating hangars and other aviation-related facilities at the airport,” she said.

The airport incentive would benefit Hatzolah, the emergency services organization that plans to develop its aviation division world headquarters at Sullivan County International Airport.

The IDA is accepting public comment on the proposals and is expected to give final approval later this month.
