New Jersey man arrested in Dutchess for sexually abusing a child

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 64-year-old New Jersey man after a month-long investigation into the sexual abuse of a child.  The man is in the Dutchess County Jail for felony charges.

Herald Bodensiek of Edison, New Jersey was arrested on a felony sexual abuse charge on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

DCSO Captain John Watterson said “At this time there doesn’t appear to be a danger to the community as a whole,” regarding Bodensiek’s actions.

After being processed Bodensiek was arraigned in the Town of Union Vale Court and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
