Liberty man arrested for residential burglary

LIBERTY – A 55-year-old Liberty man was arrested following an investigation into a residential burglary on South Main Street in the Village of Liberty.

Police were called to a residence by the homeowner on Monday, February 28 after returning home and finding a man burglarizing and attempting to steal jewelry and electronics.

The burglar, later identified as Ralph Sparks, fled with the personal property.

Investigation led to his arrest on charges of burglary and grand larceny, both felonies. He was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

Village of Liberty Police were assisted in the investigation by the Town of Fallsburg Police K-9 Division.
