MONTICELLO – A female store clerk at the Sunoco gas station at 360 East Broadway in Monticello took swift action when approached by a would-be robber at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15.
Police said a man wearing a black ski mask and black clothing entered the business and displayed what appeared to be a handgun.
He told the woman this was a robbery at which time the sole employee ran out the back door.
At that point, the robber fled out the front door without obtaining any money.
