Saugerties man jailed for violating order of protection

SAUGERTIES – A 59-year-old Saugerties man was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail after he violated a stay-away order of protection issued to protect a woman.

Police said on February 10, Thomas Colon, when to the woman’s home on Malden Turnpike, woke her up and threatened her with physical harm. Before leaving, he threw a bowl at her.

On February 15, police spotted Colon in the Village of Saugerties, took him, into custody and charged him with felony criminal contempt. He was arraigned and jailed.
