Man wanted in two states arrested in Monticello

MONTICELLO – A 49-year-old man with no present address was arrested on Tuesday by Monticello Police on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

In the early afternoon, police were called to the Mountain Mall at 321 Broadway in Monticello for a report of a disorderly man.

A computer check of the man, identified as Eldon Ray Groh, revealed he was wanted by the Barry County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri on a felony warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

He was also wanted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in Florida on a charge of failure to appear on a warrant.

He was taken into custody without incident, arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
