Prison sentence for repeat DWI offender

KINGSTON – A 41-year-old Kerhonkson man was sentenced on Monday, February 14 by Ulster County Court Judge Bryan Rounds to 1 1/3 to four years in state prison following his previously entered guilty plea to two separate counts of felony driving while intoxicated stemming from two separate incidents.

Mario Henderson was arrested on August 16, 2020 and charged with felony DWI for having two prior convictions within 10 years. He was released and remained at liberty until he was arrested again on October 20, 2020 after crashing a vehicle.

When police arrived at the scene, he became violent and began to punch, kick and head butt a sheriff’s deputy.

Blood results in that case came back with a .25 blood alcohol content and he was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated as a felony.

His criminal history consists of five prior felony convictions and four prior DWI convictions since 2014.
