HYDE PARK – Town police are being assisted by the New York State Police to investigate a “suspicious death” that occurred Saturday at a hotel in Hyde Park.  The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Hyde Park Police responded to the Inn at Hyde Park, 4171 Albany Post Road (Route 9) on Saturday at approximately 7 a.m. for a report of a 30-year-old man who was unconscious and not breathing.

Responding officers located the man and determined that he had died as a result of an obvious wound.  Sources told Mid-Hudson News that the police are being assisted by the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

On Saturday night, three rooms at the single-story hotel were still cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape and members of the NYSP Forensic Investigation Unit were witnessed removing evidence from a room and placing it in bags outside of one of the rooms.

Updates will be provided by Mid-Hudson News when they become available.
