A 38-year-old Monticello woman has been arrested for being in possession of multiple handguns on the campus of Liberty High School last week.

SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties man has been committed to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail for violating an order of protection as well as allegedly assaulting the victim during a domestic dispute.

Saugerties Police were called to a residence on Sparling Road in the town at 11:44 p.m. on January 5.

Investigation alleged that Thomas Colon, 59, struck the victim several times during the course of the evening causing minor injuries. It was also determined that there was a no-harassment order of protection against Colon issued by Saugerties Justice Court on behalf of the woman.

Colon was charged with a felony of criminal contempt of a court order and a misdemeanor for attempted assault.

He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
