KINGSTON – Ulster County and its Sheriffs’ Police Benevolent Association have reached a tentative five-year contract agreement.

The pact covers the period of January 11, 2020 through December 31, 2024. County employees represented by the PBA will receive a $1,250 off-base signing bonus, increases in the county’s share of health insurance costs in retirement, and raises across the board to help with both recruitment and retention,

The union rank-and-file has approved the deal, which now goes to the county legislature for its approval.

The PBA represents deputies, detectives, sergeants and dispatches in the sheriff’s office.
