HYDE PARK – Roosevelt firefighters, assisted by the Fairview Fire Department battled a fire at a junkyard on Cardinal Road Thursday night. The first responders were dispatched at approximately 6:35 p.m., according to Roosevelt FD Deputy Chief Jeff Scala.
Firefighters were initially hampered by the limited amount of water available near the A&T Auto Parts property at 111 Cardinal Road. Scala said that the fire was under control in approximately 30 minutes and work was completed in approximately three hours.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division.
