ALBANY – The state has announced $2.5 million in engineering planning grants to help jumpstart planning for water infrastructure projects.
The funding has been awarded to municipalities in Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan and Westchester counties.
- Town of Wawayanda – $30,000 to fund the development of an engineering report to evaluate disinfection alternatives and recommend improvements to the wastewater treatment system.
- Town of Thompson – $50,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration in the Emerald Green Pump Station 6 area, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
- Village of Sleepy Hollow – $28,800 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
- Town of Fallsburg -$50,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration in the Laurel Avenue area, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
- Town of Cornwall – $100,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration in the Firthcliffe Heights and Beaverdam Lake Sewer Districts, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
- Town of Wappinger – $100,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration in the Mid-Point Park Sewer District, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
- Town of Newburgh – $20,000 to evaluate the feasibility of constructing a new central wastewater collection system to serve the West Orange Lake area and evaluate collection and treatment alternatives.
- City of Mount Vernon – $100,000 to evaluate the condition of the municipal separate stormwater sewer system, evaluate alternatives and recommend improvements to the storm sewer system.
- Town of New Windsor – $100,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration, evaluate alternatives, and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
- City of Newburgh – $100,000 to identify sources of inflow and infiltration in the West Trunk Sewer, evaluate alternatives and recommend improvements to the wastewater collection system.
