ALBANY – The number of new COVID-19 deaths in the Hudson Valley/Catskills on Sunday, the latest day for which statistics are available, has increased to 15 with three deaths each in Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, and Westchester counties. There was one death each in Putnam and Ulster counties.
The number of new cases in the region on Sunday dropped to 2,033.
Governor Kathy Hochul continues to urge residents to receive their two vaccinations and a booster shot to protect them from the deadly virus. All New Yorkers ages five and older are eligible, with walk-in vaccination available at all sites on a first-come, first-serve basis for people ages 12 and older.
