YONKERS – Two people were killed and three injured Sunday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on the Saw Mill River Parkway near McLean Avenue in Yonkers.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling southbound on the parkway lost control, went through an opening in the center median concrete divider and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound. The driver of each vehicle was killed.
Two passengers in the northbound vehicle were injured. The driver of a third vehicle, which was also traveling northbound, was injured when a secondary collision occurred after the initial accident.
The full circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the Patrol Services Division and its Accident Investigation Team.
