New one-day COVID-19 cases in region break 3,000 mark

ALBANY – For the last several days, daily new cases of COVID-19 in the Hudson Valley/Catskills averaged around 2,000. They have now exceeded 3,000 cases in one day – Tuesday – and with the holidays here, medical experts are saying they will climb even higher.

New one-day positives totaled 3,030 with five new deaths reported – two in Rockland, two in Ulster and one in Westchester.
