NEW CITY – A former corrections officer at the Rockland County Jail pled guilty on Wednesday to a felony of tampering with public records and a misdemeanor of official misconduct.

John Kezek, 35, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Florida, New York, appeared in Rockland County Court.

After receiving a complaint from a woman about Kezek’s conduct in his official capacity in the Rockland County Jail, an investigation was commenced into activity inside the jail. Charges were brought against Kezek and another officer resigned.

As part of Kezek’s guilty plea admitting to making false entries into the jail records, he also admitted to exposing himself to a female inmate while working at the jail in November 2019.

He is expected to be sentenced in March 2022.
