NEWBURGH – One day after four teens, ages 16-18, were shot during a gunfight in the City of Newburgh, police officers walked the streets of the William and Carson Street neighborhood and talked to local residents.

The police department’s large Emergency Services Unit was parked on the street.

Eleven-year-old Aldexandri had just gotten off her school bus on Wednesday afternoon when the bullets started flying and she told Mid-Hudson News about what she saw.

“I fell down to the floor and I saw the man with a gun, and I saw when he shot the other man and then I started running to my house. I just got off of the bus and I saw everything,” she said.

The police have not offered a motive for the incident that left two teens with gunshot wounds to their legs and two others with wounds to their abdomens.
