Car jumps curb, strikes pedestrian, building

PEARL RIVER – A 74-year-old Orangeburg woman sustained injuries when an SUV jumped a curb and struck her Monday afternoon, Orangetown Police said.

Authorities said a 77-year-old New City man was driving a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee when it drove up onto the curb of the ShopRite store at 26 North Middletown Road in Pearl River just before 2:30 p.m., struck the front of the store and the woman. 

She was transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and released.
