Man shot on Main Street in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police responded to MidHudson Regional Hospital on Saturday around 5 p.m. for a report of a man who walked into the emergency department with a gunshot wound.  The man had been struck by bullets in both his hip and calf.

 

Officers interviewed the man who reluctantly said that he had been shot in the vicinity of the barbershop at 384 Main Street.  The victim said that he did not know the identity of the person that shot him and was not interested in pursuing criminal charges.

 

Officers investigating the crime scene were told by witnesses that the gunman was using a revolver and wearing a yellow hat.  At approximately 6:13 p.m., an officer reported that he had reviewed surveillance camera footage from a camera located near the Casablanca Deli at 386 Main Street.  The footage showed the described suspect in possession of a revolver.

 

City of Poughkeepsie police are continuing to investigate the shooting and ask that anyone with information to call the TIPS Line at 845-451-7577.
