YONKERS – A 32-year-old Yonkers man has been arrested and charged with gunning down another man on a city street early in the morning of Saturday, October 10, 2020.
Police said Alvaro Vigueras, 20, of Yonkers, was walking on Lawrence Street around 1:30 in the morning when a Mercedes Benz pulled up near him, two men got out and opened fire, killing him.
Investigation led to the arrest on October 4, 2021 of the driver, Jonathan Planas, 32, who was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
Investigators are continuing to develop information to establish probable cause for criminal charges against the passenger.
The investigation was conducted by Yonkers Police and the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force.
