KINGSTON – After a possible exposure to COVID-19 and the appearance of minimal symptoms, State Assemblyman Kevin Cahill (D, Kingston) tested positive for the virus.
In a statement, the lawmaker said on Sunday afternoon, he experienced mild systems and took a rapid COVID-19 test that turned up positive.
“Since I am fully vaccinated, the symptoms have been mild,” he said. “Out of an abundance of caution and following CDC and medical professional advice, I am self-quarantining for the next few days. I urge everyone to follow the guidance of health care professionals from around the world and please get vaccinated.”
Cahill’s Kingston office will remain open to the public with masking requested upon entry regardless of vaccination status.
