New York City man killed in Taconic crash

PUTNAM VALLEY – A 55-year-old New York City man was killed when his car ran off the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Putnam Valley and struck a tree.

State Police from the Stormville barracks located a 1995 Toyota Tacoma off the road just south of exit 31A shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The driver, Douglas Day, was pronounced dead at scene.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
