WAWARSING – An Esopus man was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon following a traffic stop on Route 209 in the Town of Wawarsing.
Following the stop by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies before 1 a.m. on August 24, it was determined that Gerald Jones, Jr., 29, was in possession of a loaded handgun without a permit.
He was charged and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Wawarsing Town Court.
