KINGSTON – With the clock ticking on the capping of the county’s current solid waste disposal site upstate, the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency has hired a company to study potential sites in the county for a future landfill.
Agency Executive Director Tim DeGraff said they hired HydroQuest to conduct a study.
“It is a part of our solid waste management plan and there is a lot of support from legislators and officials, certainly for looking at that option first and foremost,” he said.
The study will look to exclude environmental justice areas of the county.
