Police investigate latest gunfire in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 22-year-old man sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds on Tuesday afternoon and City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating the incident.  The shooting is believed to have occurred in the vicinity of Mill and Garden Streets just before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24.

 

Police were summoned to Vassar Brothers Medical Center for a report of a man with gunshot wounds.  

 

Detectives and crime scene technicians closed down all three westbound lanes of Mill Street, between Catharine Street and Civic Center Plaza, and searched for evidence.  Several shell casings, including one directly in front of Mill House Brewery, were recovered.

 

A vehicle, possibly involved in the shooting was impounded at police headquarters and towed to a secure location for further examination.
