POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, with Dutchess County Division of Veterans’ Services and Mental Health America of Dutchess County Veterans’ Programs, will be holding a live Veteran’s Telephone-Town Hall forum on Monday, August 30 at 5:30 p.m.

The town hall forum will be a discussion about how the current events in Afghanistan, the upcoming 20th anniversary of 9/11, and other issues are impacting veterans and their families.

The forum will be an opportunity to learn about available resources and support, including the MHA Vet 2 Vet programs and many resources available to veterans and their families.

“This has been a difficult time for all Americans, and we need to remember the many struggles dealt with by our brave veterans. This town hall will give a chance for these American heroes, our neighbors to take part in a conversation, express their thoughts and find out about helpful resources available to them,” said Molinaro.

Veterans can choose to participate in this discussion including sharing their experiences and thoughts, as well as ask questions, with fellow veterans or simply listen in to the conversation.

Dutchess County Veterans Services Director Adam Roche, the veteran team from MHA, along with VFW Post 170 Past Commander Tommy Zurhellen, will be providing information about MHA’s Vet 2 Vet program and other resources for veterans who may be dealing with issues relating to PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries, depression or other mental health issues.

Veterans and families should receive an automated call when the Telephone Town Hall meeting begins and can listen in to the discussion simply by staying on the line. There will be prompts to be able to offer thoughts or ask questions.

If you do not receive a call or would like to dial into the Telephone Town Hall meeting from your cell or other location, call the toll-free number: (845)-765-7121.
