KINGSTON – An Ulster County Jail (UCJ) inmate Truvock Noble has been indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury after he was found to be in possession of homemade “shanks” in the jail on July 7.  Ulster County DA David Clegg.

Noble, a Kingston resident, has been in the UCJ since April of 2021, awaiting trial on a murder charge.  He was indicted by a different grand jury for the murder of Eric Crawford in broad daylight at the corner of Broadway and Liberty Street in Kingston.  A County Court judge had remanded him to the UCJ and he will now be going to court to face charges of having dangerous contraband in the jail.

Items such as shanks are determined to be dangerous contraband because they can be used to endanger the safety and security of the jail and corrections officers, civilian employees, and other inmates. Clegg issued a statement on Saturday, saying that “the threat these dangerous contrabands pose to everyone in the jail, including corrections officers, justify the need for serious and vigorous prosecution of such cases.”

Truvock Noble is expected to be arraigned soon in Ulster County Court on his new charges. He is represented by William Pretsch of Kingston.
