Kingston woman arrested trying to smuggle drugs into county jail

KINGSTON – A Kingston woman was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s detectives after it was detected that she was attempting to smuggle a quantity of Suboxone into the jail.

Danielle Schovel, 27, was taken into custody while in the visitation lobby. Corrections staff intercepted her prior to her entering the jail for a scheduled visitation.

She was charged with misdemeanors of criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.

Schovel was released with an appearance ticket returning to Kingston City Court.
