Man arrested for allegedly making death threats

Saugerties Police Chief Joe Sinagra has been placed on paid administrative leave.

SAUGERTIES – An 18-year-old Saugerties man has been arrested and charged with harassment following a domestic incident in Saugerties.

Police investigated a report of an incident at 3190 Route 9W on Monday, July 26.

A woman reported her ex-boyfriend, identified as Kobe Edwards, had gone to her residence and attempted to start an altercation. During the course of the argument, he allegedly threatened to kill the woman and her family.

Edwards was later taken into custody.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance with a full stay-away order of protection issued on behalf of the victim.
