POUGHKEEPSIE – Democrat Rachel Saunders is slated to be declared the winner of the Working Families Party primary for Dutchess County Family Court Judge by the Dutchess County Board of Elections (BOE) on Thursday, July 1.
Saunders is challenging Republican incumbent Family Court Judge Denise Watson in the November election. The two faced off in the primary to capture the Working Families ballot line for the general election.
BOE Republican Election Commissioner Erik Haight said that Saunders received a total of 76 votes to 74 received by Watson, who has served on the bench since 2011.
