Three arrested after shots fired in Monticello

MONTICELLO – Village Police in Monticello have arrested three men in connection with an incident of shots being fired last Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 2:25 p.m. on Broadway near the intersection of Prince Street in Monticello.

When the police rolled up on the scene they spotted several men involved in a physical altercation. Three of them, later identified as Joseph Robinson, 20, of Ellenville; Jujuan Dixon, 18, of Liberty, and Adrian Davis, 21, of Liberty, were stopped when they attempted to flee in a vehicle. Officers Eric Youmans and Tyrus Walker recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver from under the front passenger seat. The serial number had been defaced.

All three men were charged with the felonies of criminal use of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.

They were all remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond.

Monticello Police were assisted by State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office.
