Two arrested for unlawful possession of fireworks

KINGSTON – Police in Kingston have arrested two people in separate incidents for unlawful possession of fireworks.

In the first incident, patrols spotted aerial fireworks in the area of Greenkill Avenue and found a man shooting a roman candle.

In the second incident, a caller reported fireworks in the area of Murray Street.

Officers investigated and observed exploding aerial fireworks in the area and found a man with a quantity of canisters and rockets-type fireworks.

Both men were charged with unlawful possession of fireworks and are due in city court at a later date.

Kingston Police remind everyone that all exploding and aerial fireworks are unlawful. Only “sparkling devices” are permitted in New York State.
