Kingston man charged after investigation of shots fired

KINGSTON – A 26-year-old Kingston man has been arrested following an investigation into charges of shots being fired from a vehicle in the area of Smith Avenue and Grand Street in the City of Kingston.

The incident was reported at around 1:48 a.m. on Thursday, June 24.

No one was struck by the gunfire.

An investigation led to the arrest of Mujahid Memminger of Sheehan Court.

He was charged with attempted assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and obstruction of governmental administration.

City police were assisted by Town of Ulster Police, State Police, the Ulster County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s Offices.
