MONTICELLO – As the economy continues to reopen thanks to vaccines that have slammed the breaks on the COVID-19 pandemic, weddings and other events are being scheduled in large numbers in Sullivan County.

Roberta Byron-Lockwood, president of the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association, said venues are booking up because of the pent-up demand from the pandemic.

“Life events, in general, are starting to find their way back with quite a zest in the Sullivan Catskills in ’21 and into ’22 and beyond. The same is happening as we start to see smaller groups, boutique groups and conferences. We are also seeing some of our convention and conference business circle back.”

Lockwood said Airbnb business is seeing new bookings as well.
