GOSHEN – The last two people charged in connection with the beating death of a man in the Town of Goshen on December 18, 2019 pled guilty in Orange County Court on Friday.

Robert Haskell, 35, and Timothy Smith, 37, both of Goshen, pled guilty to charges of manslaughter in the death of 28-year-old Michael Partridge.

Two other defendants, Seth Pelsing, 31, of Goshen, and Courtney Clemenza, 33, of Chester, entered guilty pleas to manslaughter charges earlier.

The four are accused of beating and binding Partridge and dumping him on the side of Kipp Road in Goshen where a motorist spotted him. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During prior court appearances prosecutors argued that on December 18, 2019, Partridge went to the house where Haskell, Pelsang and Smith lived armed with a shotgun. After he was disarmed and restrained by the three residents, Haskell beat him with a baseball bat.

Prosecutors argued all three men helped tie up Partridge, who was placed inside Clemenza’s car by Haskell and Pelsang and then she drove with them to another area of the Village of Chester where the victim was left on the side of the road, bound and wounded.

All four defendants are scheduled to be sentenced later this year.
