POUND RIDGE – New York State Electric & Gas has begun construction on a circuit upgrade project that will benefit more than 1,600 customers in the towns of Pound Ridge and Lewisboro.

The project will upgrade just under 10 miles of power lines and bring enhanced reliability to its customers. The work is part of the company’s resiliency program that proactively hardens its system to continue providing safe and reliable service to customers.

Along the circuit, the company is installing 11 new specialized switches that provide NYSEG with the ability to temporarily switch circuits that power a customer’s home or business.

Prior to starting construction, the company completed enhanced tree trimming along the power lines to address any overgrowth of trees, branches or foliage that can break during storms and damage power infrastructure.
