NEW ROCHELLE – Police are investigating a carjacking and armed robbery that occurred on Thursday night. A resident at 132 Beechwood Avenue reported the incident at 11:40 p.m.
The victim told police that after he pulled into his driveway and exited his car, he observed a Hyundai sedan pass him in a suspicious manner. Moments later, the man said he was confronted by a black male in his twenties wearing a dark-colored gator-style mask, and a NY Yankees baseball cap. The victim stated the male suspect brandished a handgun and ripped a chain from his neck before entering the victim’s car and driving off.
The stolen BMW and the Hyundai were last seen fleeing the area on Beechwood Avenue towards Main Street.
