MAMAKATING – A Saturday afternoon accident on Main Street in Bloomingburg has sent a mother to Garnet Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill with minor injuries and her three-year-old daughter was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.
Sources tell Mid-Hudson News that at approximately 3 p.m., a car driven by a man allegedly swerved to avoid a squirrel in the roadway, drove onto the sidewalk where he struck a mother who was holding her daughter at the time.
The vehicle hit the mother and then proceeded to run over the daughter, causing life-threatening head injuries to the little girl, it was initially believed.
