TOWN OF ULSTER – A Columbia County man and a Montgomery County woman have been arrested
and charged with robbing the Key Bank branch at 1203 Ulster Avenue in the Town of Ulster on Thursday afternoon.
Tyler Meltz, 27, of Hudson and Tonya Perez, 37, of Sprakers, were each charged with robbery and grand larceny.
They were arraigned and due to the state bail reform laws of 2020, released to reappear at a later date.
The robbery occurred around 2:40 p.m. when a man entered the bank, robbed it and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police did not say if the man passed a note or told a teller he was conducting a robbery.
As a result of an investigation, Meltz and Perez were identified as suspects and with the assistance of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, they were taken into custody without incident.
The Ulster Police Department was assisted by the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, State Police, Ulster and Columbia County Sheriff’s Offices.
