POUGHKEEPSIE – Comedian Ken Krantz is performing at Laugh It Up Comedy Club in Poughkeepsie this weekend and will be recording an album during his three separate one-hour performances.  There is one performance Friday night and two more on Saturday night.

Laugh It Up owner and fellow funnyman Dan McRitchie said “Comedy fans can expect a hilarious, safe, socially distant show” at the revived club in its new location at the Holiday Inn at 2170 South Road (Route 9) in Poughkeepsie.  The hotel was formerly a Best Western and housed Banana’s Comedy Club for many years.

Krantz, the youngest of eight children, is headlining the show that features fellow comics Adam Izzo and Ritu Chandra.  Headliner Krantz started his comedy career in 2009 and recorded his first album in 2016.  His act is described as a “No holds barred” event that covers growing up with seven siblings, fatherhood, pop culture, current events, and more.  “People really do need to laugh and this show will do just that,” said Krantz.

Noting that society, in general, has been sequestered for more than a year during the pandemic, Krantz said that the returning audiences have been tremendous.  “The crowds, post-COVID, are some of the best I have ever performed in front of.”

McRitchie said that there is a 7:00 pm show on Friday, followed by 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm shows on Saturday night.  Tickets for the return of comedy can be purchased here.
