Police arrest members of New Jersey drug trafficking organization

MID-HUDSON – The Ulster County Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team and State Police Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested a number of members of a drug trafficking organization from Paterson, New Jersey after a several month joint investigation.

In June 2020, URGENT developed information and identified a drug trafficking organization operating in Ulster County. The ensuing investigation revealed the gang was responsible for sale and distribution of heroin and fentanyl in Ulster County and surrounding areas.

On July 11, 2020, police started their enforcement operations with the arrest of Farrad Thompson, 30, of Paterson, New Jersey. He was arrested in the Town of Lloyd with 400 bags or “decks” of fentanyl, some 20 grams of crack cocaine and $1,000 in cash.

He was charged with three felony counts each of possession and sale of drugs and released on his own recognizance. In October, he was indicted, turned himself in and was released on his own recognizance.

On March 4, 2021, Ulster County and State Police arrested Godfrey Stitchell, 28, Miheaven Coe, 22, and Kasmeek Mack, 27, all of Paterson, New Jersey.

Stitchell was arrested in the Town of Lloyd while in possession of 2,700 decks of heroin with fentanyl and 37 grams of cocaine. He was charged with felony possession and sale of drugs and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.

Coe and Mack were arrested in the Town of Woodbury by state troopers. They were found in possession of some 2,000 decks of heroin destined for Ulster County. They were both charged with felony possession of drugs and released on  appearance tickets returnable to town court.

On March 30, 2021, Farrad Thompson was arrested a second time. He was located in Paterson by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Fugitive Task Force. He was taken into custody on a warrant issued by Ulster County Court for felony conspiracy. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition to Ulster County, which took place on April 5. Thompson is now being held in the Ulster County Jail.
