GOSHEN – When Werlien Prosperie III was a sophomore in college, he came up with the idea for Gas Pump TV. “I saw the opportunity to make the daily chore of pumping gas engaging and entertaining,” the now 32-year-old entrepreneur said.

He has now begun to roll out his 360Fuel brand concept in the Hudson Valley, initially in Orange County, with local partner SOS Fuels and the support of county government.

“We have a mixture of news, weather, sports, entertainment; our goal is to give fueling customers an enjoyable and captive experience during fueling, and to give retailers the ability to merchandise and play product content that consumers love,” he said.

“Connected-fueling empowers the consumer, providing a secure fully integrated, and frictionless transaction at the pump, that originates on their mobile device,” said Michael Coleman, vice president of business development for 360Fuel.

Prosperie anticipates installing the new high-tech gas pumps at some 70 gas stations in the area within a year. There are currently seven in service.
