MONTICELLO – A Monticello man, who was stopped for a vehicle and traffic violence on High Street in the village, was arrested on a warrant from the Town of Wallkill.
While troopers were attempting to arrest Perris Marks, he began to fight with them, but was eventually taken into custody.
Officers also found a loaded handgun in his coat pocket.
Marks was charged with criminal possession of a loaded weapon, criminal possession of a weapon with a previous conviction, and criminal possession of a loaded firearm, all as felonies. Misdemeanor charges against him included criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
