POUGHKEEPSIE – Detectives from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) are seeking the public’s help investigating a shooting that occurred last Friday, March 12, in the county.

This past Friday, a man with a gunshot wound to the face walked into the emergency department at Vassar Brothers Medical Center and was unable to explain the facts leading to his wound.  City of Poughkeepsie Police were alerted by hospital staff and responded to the hospital.  An associate of the victim told police that the shooting had occurred at a hotel in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  Town police responded and subsequently investigated the potential scene at the hotel, with no evidence being recovered.
Investigators continued and discovered information that indicated that the shooting had actually occurred in Hyde Park.  Personnel from the sheriff’s office responded to 11 Willow Cross Road in Hyde Park and observed evidence that indicated that the shooting happened at that address.
Sheriff’s Detective Sergeant Adam Harris told Mid-Hudson News that his agency’s crime scene unit spent several hours at the scene collecting and analyzing potential evidence.  Harris said that there is no threat to the safety of the general public in relation to the incident but made a plea for the community’s assistance.  “The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone that may have information regarding a possible shooting on Willow Cross Road last week anonymously provide authorities with the information.  “We are asking that witnesses that may have information regarding incidents at that address to contact me directly at 845-486-3852.  All calls are confidential,” said Harris.
